Twitter Lead Generation Cards
posted by
on Wednesday, June 12th, 2013 Twitter has announced a new type of Twitter card, enabling marketers and online community managers to deliver a deeper user experience through simple ‘one click’ offers embedded inside a Tweet.
- When a user expands a tweet with this card enabled, he or she is able to view the offer and securely submit their name, @username, and email address to claim it with one click.
- The form is unobtrusive. There is no click-through and the Tweet loads with user information pre-loaded when expanded. There is no for the user to fill out a cumbersome form.
- At this point, this feature is only available to advertisers or brands with a managed account.
- Twitter Cards are active for display on Twitter.com, iOS, and Android apps. They will not display on mobile.twitter.com, in third party applications, external applications, and Blackberry devices.
- Currently, Lead Generation Cards do not allow for other fields (e.g., age, zip code, etc).
- You can view a breakout of analytics by exporting a CSV file of lead submissions in the Twitter metrics dashboard.
- Twitter doesn’t store leads. A lead management solution, such as a CRM or marketing automation system is required.
Key Takeaways
- An excellent new way to reward a community with a coupon or special offer.
- Allows brands to capture names, email addresses, and @usernames.
