The Race For Our Lives

Team Zeno Zombie Zappers takes on the Zombie Apocalypse in SoCal

In the spirit of Halloween and all things fun and spooky, the Zeno LA team decided to participate in the RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 5K obstacle run in Temecula, California. As if driving the two hour distance to Temecula in traditional LA traffic wasn’t scary enough, the premise of RFYL is to “survive” a zombie apocalypse.

Each runner is given three flags (like in flag football) with the mission of evading wandering zombies along the trail and finishing with at least one of their flags still intact. Once you lose all of your flags, you become a zombie.

Ending the race with five survivors and five zombies, and a completion time of one-hour and twelve minutes, it’s safe to say the race for our lives was all but easy. From uphill climbs, swimming through mud, crawling under fences and even going through an electric shock house (all while bobbing and weaving through groups of undead), we faced several obstacles that challenged our fearlessness and made for a fun race for our lives!
